One of the past weekly photograph challenges was to take a picture of something old. So I did. Tada!

This Singer 1960’s era sewing machine belonged to my mother.  She used it to sew my cheer-leading outfits and choir dresses, with much reluctance.   She never enjoyed sewing, but did so anyway as part of her motherly duty.  I also remember some unfortunate polyester pants with elastic waistbands that she produced.   At some point she abandoned her motherly duty and started writing checks to others to sew my dresses and dance costumes.  That was probably for the best.

Now, the sewing machine is mine.  I am still a beginner, but I plan to make some killer throw pillows.
